Improving Operational Efficiency for Manufacturing company with Liferay DXP Solution - Surekha Technologies
Liferay DXP Solution for Manufacturing Company to Improve Operation Efficiency by 200%

Digitizing 15+ manual processes and data management workflows for manufacturing company to increase the operational efficiency by 200%
Our client specializes in manufacturing printing systems and their spare parts. Their product inventory holds more than 10000 SKUs. The client used to manage records and different workflows in a scattered manner that includes data and information flow between multiple stakeholders via emails, spreadsheets and a legacy custom operation management software. With this it became very difficult to manage all the business operations like client job report, QC data, etc.
Project Brief
We developed a Liferay DXP-based data and workflow management portal to streamline and enhance the client's manufacturing operations. The portal centralizes data management, automates workflows, and improves collaboration across multiple departments by capturing data from various user groups and interconnecting their actions based on operational parameters such as approvals, alerts, and notifications.
To achieve this, we leveraged Liferay's rich set of out-of-the-box features, including user management with roles and permissions to ensure controlled access, low-code capabilities like Liferay Objects and Forms for data modeling, and the Kaleo Workflow engine to automate multi-step approval processes. Additionally, we utilized Liferay's built-in notifications and announcements for real-time communication. We also have implemented React Based Liferay portlets for building custom UI components for additional features.
Given the client's high data volume, a fast and efficient search system was essential. We integrated Elasticsearch, enhancing search speed with advanced indexing and filtering.
We also provided integration the with the client's existing IT ecosystem, enabling smoother operations and improved workflow efficiency. This transformation gave the organization greater visibility, control, and the flexibility to scale as needed.
Business Needs & Challenges
The client relied on manual data entry in spreadsheets and legacy operation management system, leading to inconsistencies and errors. Managing and tracking large volumes of manufacturing data across multiple departments was time-consuming and inefficient. Without a centralized system, decision-making was often delayed due to a lack of real-time insights.
The existing Operation Management was outdated, making it difficult to support modern business needs. Limited integration capabilities restricted data flow between departments. Frequent system slowdowns and a lack of scalability caused the company’s ability to adapt to growing operational demands.
The client faced challenges in tracking and managing supply chain activities in real time. Inefficient coordination between multiple internal and external stakeholders led to delays.
Employees were accustomed to legacy workflows, making the transition to digital processes challenging. Inconsistent operational procedures across departments led to inefficiencies and miscommunication.
